Joka kerran kun mietin New Yorkia, tulee ihan mieletön halu matkustaa sinne saman tien. Jos olisin sinkku, ei varmastikaan olisi pientäkään epäilystä, missä päin maailmaa asustelisin. Kyllä minä varmastikin tallailisin Manhattanin katuja. Se on mielestäni kuin tehty itsenäisille sinkuille, mutta lapsiperheen arkea en näkisi viettäväni siellä. Edes mielikuvissani.
No mutta, joka tapauksessa silmäni suorastaan nauliutuvat aina, kun muotilehtien sivuilla tulee eteen jotain juttua kuvankauniista ja harkiten stailatuista New Yorkereista. Vaikka totta puhuttuna, ei siellä katukuvassa kylläkään törmää muotilehti -lookkeihin yhtään sen useammin kuin vaikkapa Helsingin katukuvassakaan. Mutta ei anneta sen häiritä illuusiota, vaan katsellaan kauniita kuvia ja inspiroidutaan niistä. Maanantain kunniaksi.

Every time when I think of New York, I will feel quite an insane desire to travel there immediately. If I were single, there would certainly not be even a small doubt, where in the world I would be living. Yes, I certainly would step Manhattan streets. It is the perfect place for independent singles, but not for families with children. Not even in my mind.
My heart skip a beat every time I see pictures of the picturesque and thoughtfully stylized New York fashionistas. They certainly are the world´s fashion pioneers. Although, to be honest, you don´t come across the Fashion-Magazine- Looks in Manhattan any more often than you come across them in Helsinki. But, don´t let it interfere with the illusion, just look at these beautiful photos and be inspired by them. Monday's honor.
